The Asia-Pacific Region is a region that competes in the Little League World Series. Asian teams first competed in the LLWS in 1962, when the Far East was given a berth for the first time. A Far East qualifier participated in every LLWS between 1962 and 2000 (with the exception of 1975). In 2001, the Little League World Series was expanded to sixteen teams, and the Far East was split into two regions – the Pacific (consisting of teams from the Pacific Islands, Indonesia, and Oceania) and Asia (consisting of teams from mainland Asia). In 2007, the regions were reconfigured. Japan was given its own automatic berth in the Series, while the remaining Asian teams merged with the Pacific teams to create the Asia-Pacific Region. Far East qualifiers won a combined 23 titles between 1962 and 2000 – 17 from Chinese Taipei(Taiwan), four from Japan, and two from Korea Republic. Since the tournament expanded to sixteen teams, two teams (Tokyo in 2001 and 2003) that qualified out of the Asia, Pacific, or Asia-Pacific region have gone on to win the LLWS. In the 2009 Little League World Series, Kuei-Shan Little League of Taoyuan County, Taiwan finished as a runner-up in the tournament. In the 2010 Little League World Series, Fusin(Fu-hsin) from Kaohsiung,Taiwan reached the International final before falling to Japan.
