Contents 1 Playing career 2 Transactions 3 See also 4 External links // Playing career Born in Missouri but raised in Minnesota, Ranheim went to high school in Edina, Minnesota, where he was the captain of his high school hockey team. Known for his speed and penalty killing ability, he played college hockey at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Selected in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, he would spent five seasons with the Flames. He was traded to the Hartford Whalers on March 10, 1994 and after three seasons the team relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina to become the Carolina Hurricanes. After three season with the Hurricanes, he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers on May 31, 2000. He was traded once more to the Phoenix Coyotes on December 19, 2002 and finished the 2002–03 NHL season with Phoenix before retiring from hockey. Transactions March 10, 1994 - Traded from the Calgary Flames with Ted Drury and Gary Suter to the Hartford Whalers for Michael Nylander, James Patrick and Zarley Zalapski. May 31, 2000 - Traded from the Carolina Hurricanes to the Philadelphia Flyers for an 8th round pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. December 19, 2002 - Traded from the Philadelphia Flyers to the Phoenix Coyotes for a conditional draft pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
