The Northern Pipeline Agency Canada is a Canadian government agency of Natural Resources Canada. The agency was created in April 1978, with the proclamation of the Northern Pipeline Act, to oversee planning and construction of the Canadian section of the Alaska Highway Gas Pipeline Project by the Foothills Group of Companies. The agency has a relatively small office, including the head Commissioner who reports to Parliament through the Minister of Natural Resources. The agency Office develops and consults on major policy issues between the United States, the provinces, and the Government of Canada departments and agencies, concerned. The agency also includes an Office of the Administrator whose responsibilities are those religated from the Commissioner. The Office of the Designated Officer is given responsibilities defined by the National Energy Board[1]. The current Commissioner of the Northern Pipeline Agency of Canada is Cassie Doyle, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources[2]. Reference ^ "Northern Pipeline Agency Canada".
