Shelton ("Shelly") Leigh Palmer Palmer is the author of a popular television business news blog, a weekly columnist for the Jack Myers Report, Seeking Alpha, The Huffington Post, a technology commentator for CNN.com, hosts the daily webcast MediaBytes, and the weekly television show "Digital Life with Shelly Palmer." Palmer is the author of Television Disrupted: The Transition from Network to Networked TV 2nd Edition (York House Press, 2008) the seminal book about the technological, economic, and sociological forces that are changing everything. Most recently, Palmer has been conducting a seminar called "Get Digital: Reinventing Yourself and Your Career for the 21st Century Economy." As a composer, Shelly is well known for his music for television. He has composed many familiar themes, including the themes and underscore for Live with Regis and Kelly, Spin City, and MSNBC. In addition, he has composed several television news music packages, the most prolific among them is the Palmer News Package which was originally composed for WCBS-TV. He was the music director for the 2005 New York Emmy Awards. He was the creator and executive producer of HotPop, a teen lifestyle and music show which aired on Starz/Encore's WAM! Network as well as the patented inventor of Enhanced Television for ABC (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Monday Night Football). Palmer won the award for Most Performed Television Themes at the 12th & 13th Annual ASCAP Film & Television Awards. One of his most noted compositions was “Anthem” which was commissioned by the Parsons Dance Company and received rave reviews from the New York media when it premièred. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and was a guest conductor of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Moscow during the 1988 Goodwill Games. He also wrote the "Meow Mix" Jingle for the cat food brand. In 1986, Palmer composed "Let's Go Mets", a song aimed at promoting the eventual World Series-winning team. He also supervised the production of an accompanying music video, as shown in a home video release of the video and a making-of documentary. Palmer's music also can be heard on the NYC Media Group's Inside the Archives which airs on NYCTV and WNYE-TV.
