Further information might be found on the talk page. (January 2007) Kajikawa Yosobei Yoshiteru (梶川与惣兵衛頼照, 1647-1722) was a direct retainer of the shogun during the Edo period. He was engaged in Edo-jyo(江戸城) orusuibann (江戸城御留守居番)which translates to "the work which defends Edo castle". He inherited the Kajikawa family(梶川家) and became hatamoto (=旗本the direct vassal of a shogun). His annual salary was approximately 700 stones(七百石). In 1701, he witnessed Asano Naganori(浅野長矩) injure Kira Kouzukenosuke. He subsequently arrested Takuminokami. The action was investigated and his annual salary was changed to 1200 koku. He described the details of the incident in the "Kajikawa Soubei diary." His grave is in Kanryuuzann Tentokuin(乾竜山天徳院), Tokyo Nakano Ward.
