(January 2009) Shingara Singh is a Punjabi singer and freelance radio/television presenter living in Leicester. He began his career by singing in the group called Shingar. He is most famous for the song "Accident Ho Gayi", 1990. He then went to work on Sabras Radio followed by local appearances on Vaisakhi Radio and Panjabi Radio. He then signed up to Raaj Radio where he had a successful stint before joining Midland Asian Television Channel 6 (MATV) to replace Daljit Neer for the Punjabi programming, with Gurdhama De Yatra and Punjabian De Balle for his first ever job as a TV presenter. The programmes are slowly starting to become popular with Punjabi audiences across the UK and Europe, following the success of Sanjha Panjab and Lok Virsa. In 2009, Raaj Radio went off-air and bankrupt and ceased. Kohinoor Radio got a licence on FM radio for the Leicester community which allowed Shingara to continue his radio work. He also does interviews for the Punjab2000 website and has interviewed guests including Harbhajan Mann, Gurdas Mann, Amitabh Bachan and Asha Bhosle.
